Daughter of Zeus and Leda, according to Greek mythology, Helen had a reputation as the most beautiful woman in the world, because it had several suitors. Eventually married Menelaus, who became king of Sparta. However, he was abducted by Paris, son of Priam, king of Troy. The Grecian chiefs, in solidarity with Menelaus organized a punitive expedition against Troy that led to a war of seven years' duration. No one knows exactly what happened to Helena, there are several versions to its end, the most accepted is that when Troy fell to Helena gave back to Menelaus when they died and were buried together.

Following the example of Caesar, Mark Antony also became the lover of Cleopatra. He was married to Octavia, sister of Octavian, but sent him back to Rome, returning to his brother to marry Cleopatra according to Egyptian traditions.
The romance between Cleopatra and Mark Antony were born twins: a boy, Alexandre, and a girl, who received the same name as the mother.
The couple also had a third son, Ptolemy Philadelphus.

And it is this imposible passion that makes Juliet "pretend to be dead" to escape with her beloved Romeo. The problem is that Romeo wasn't notified of the plan for Juliet, who made him fall into a deep depression. Upon seeing the lifeless body of his beloved in the Capulet tomb, Romeo drinks the poison and dies in Mantua without knowing the plan. Juliet wakes up soon after the suicide of Romeo, and, using his dagger, also kills himself. The patriarchs of the rival families come together in sorrow and promise to build golden statues of Romeo and Juliet in order to show the people of Verona how powerful love is.

Helen had many suitors, who included many of the greatest heroes of Greece, and his adoptive father, Tyndareus hesitated to take a decision in favor of one of them fearing anger others. Finally one of the suitors, Odysseus King of Ithaca, resolved the impasse by proposing that all the suitors swear to protect Helen and her husband she chose, whatever. Helen then married Menelaus, who became king of Sparta. Helen had a daughter with Menelaus, Hermione. On a trip to Sparta, Paris is the princess Helena, who is married to Menelaus, Helen and Paris fled to Troy, Menelaus, Agameon, Achilles and other kings join a war against Troy to recover Helen In principle and avenge Menelaus, but really well with economic interests. The war lasts ten years. One day, the Trojans realize that the camp of his enemies is empty, and imagine they finally gave up the war. Find there by a huge wooden horse they believe is a gift, and to carry within its walls. They are shocked, but when soldiers start coming out from inside the horse and attack the city, now helpless. The war is won by the enemies.

Abelard and heloise
ResponderExcluirAbelard became well known to admire the non-Christian philosophers, a time of strong power of the Catholic Church.Heloise became interested in theories of Abelard polemics, and knowing of her studies, he began to look for her.
Abelard became a friend of Fulbert, Heloise's uncle, and asked to stay at his house, and in return it would give him night classes to Heloise. The first classes were in the presence of his uncle Fulbert. Some time later, Fulbert trusted Abelard, leaving them alone. The classes took place while everyone was asleep, and soon grew a great love between them, leaving the worries of the studies, and began living an intensity passionate.By living this love, knew of the dangers they ran towards the company.
One night, Heloise's uncle discovered the hidden love between them. Furious, he expelled Abelard from his house, but the love between Abelard and Heloise hasn’t diminished, began meeting in places she could go without company as in the sacristy, confessional, cathedrals.
Heloise became pregnant, and to avoid scandal, Abelard took her to the village of Pallet. Leaving her to care for his sister and returned to Paris, but he was sad, and decided to talk to Fulbert, ask for his forgiveness and Heloise's hand in marriage and surprisingly, Fulbert forgave him and agreed to the marriage.The wedding was at night, hidden in a small wing of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, so that no one suspicious.
Shortly after, the marriage was discovered and Fulbert embarrassed, decided to take revenge on Abelard. He hired some men to break into Abelard's bedroom at night and castrate him.After this tragedy, Heloise entered the monastery of Santa Maria de Argenteuil. And Abelard withdrew to the monastery of Saint-Denis.Abelard years later built a school-monastery next to the school and convent of Heloise. They saw each other every day, but never spoke. Just exchanged passionated letters.
After the death of Abelard, Heloise erected a large tomb in his honor, and died some time after being on the initiative of his students, buried beside Abelard.
It is said that when they open the grave of Abelard, to lodge Heloise there, they found his body still intact and opened arms, as if awaiting the arrival of Heloise
